Cencora Impact Foundation

The Cencora Impact Foundation, formerly the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, is an independent, not-for-profit charitable giving organization, established by Cencora, Inc.

The foundation’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of patient populations — both human and animal — by partnering with organizations to expand access to healthcare around the world.

Making healthcare more accessible for all

Through partnerships, projects, and grants, we work together with nonprofit organizations around the world to ensure people and animals have a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. Our funding strategy focuses on three key areas:

In 2023, the Cencora Impact Foundation donated $500,000 to the UNICEF Health Fund, which focuses on ensuring that every child can survive and thrive by providing strong primary healthcare systems, training healthcare professionals, and working closely with national governments to ensure programs are replicable at scale. These system-wide responses aim to reduce the number of maternal and newborn deaths, provide children with immunizations, reduce malnutrition, address adolescent mental health, and combat the rise of non-communicable diseases.

Developing partnerships to drive lasting change

For us to truly advance access to healthcare in underserved communities, we need to team up with organizations that are already embedded within them, so we focus on partnering with nonprofit organizations that are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the work they do. By collaborating with like-minded organizations of all sizes, we’re able to take a local approach to addressing disparities on a global scale.

We're proud to partner with the following organizations and many others.

Helping communities in times of need

Cencora, the Cencora Impact Foundation, and all our team members are united in our purpose, and that is clearest when disaster strikes. We act quickly to support relief efforts and work together to get people back on their feet again as soon as possible.

In the aftermath of natural and manmade crises, the Cencora Impact Foundation activates supplementary funds to help communities rebuild, enact preventative measures, and remain resilient. For example, following the devastation caused by the series of earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria, the Cencora Impact Foundation assembled a package of $250,000 of relief funds distributed to several nonprofit partners. Together with Cencora team members, the foundation provided an additional $33,000+ in donations and matches to nonprofit organizations delivering aid.

Supporting nonprofits year-round

Our approach to disaster relief goes much deeper than rapid response efforts alone. We also have a robust grantmaking process that includes proactive support to our strategic emergency response partners, including Americares, Direct Relief, and more.

Empowering our people

We believe in supporting Cencora team members who generously contribute their time and money to the causes that matter most to them. Together, we’ve donated more than $7 million to various charitable organizations around the world since 2019.
